Who is Alongside Animals?
I’m Hannah, a qualified vet with nearly 30 years of experience supporting pets and the people who love them. Throughout my career, I’ve been dedicated to caring for my patients’ physical and emotional wellbeing, and that commitment has shaped every step of my professional journey.
My passion for behavioural medicine began when my own miniature schnauzer suddenly started displaying aggressive behaviours — the very first sign of an underlying spinal disorder. Living through that experience opened my eyes to how closely behaviour and health are linked, and how frightening and isolating it can feel when your pet is struggling, and you’re not sure why.
Over the years, I’ve met so many families facing similar challenges. Behavioural issues can be overwhelming, especially when life is already busy. As a working parent with dogs of my own, I understand how these difficulties can affect daily routines, relationships, and the emotional wellbeing of everyone in the home. That understanding is what led me to complete a master’s degree in Clinical Animal Behaviour and to establish Alongside Animals — a service built to offer the time, care, and personalised support that pets and their caregivers need.
My approach is gentle, thoughtful, and grounded in science. I combine my veterinary background with specialist knowledge in clinical animal behaviour and force-free training methods to create plans that feel manageable, kind, and tailored to each individual pet. I genuinely enjoy working alongside people to improve every aspect of their pet’s welfare, and I’m here to support you with empathy, clarity, and practical guidance.
Every behavioural journey is different, and my role is to help you help your pet. I’ll work with you to explore the available options and support you in choosing an approach that protects your pet’s welfare and meets the needs of your household.
If you’re looking for clear, practical help with your pet’s behaviour issues, please contact me to arrange the next steps and see how I can support you.
