Helping animals by supporting physical and emotional well-being
Who is Alongside Animals?
I’m Hannah, a qualified vet with over 30 years of experience supporting pets and the people who love them. I’ve spent my career helping animals. For me, that has always meant caring for both physical and emotional wellbeing.
Where my passion began
My interest in behavioural medicine began close to home. My own miniature schnauzer suddenly began showing aggressive behaviour. It turned out to be the first sign of an underlying spinal disorder. Living through that opened my eyes. I saw just how closely behaviour and physical health are linked — and how frightening and isolating it can feel when your pet is struggling and you don’t know why.
I understand how overwhelming it can feel
Over the years, I’ve met many families facing similar challenges. Behavioural issues can feel overwhelming, especially when life is already busy. As a working parent with dogs of my own, I understand the strain. These difficulties touch daily routines, relationships, and the wellbeing of everyone at home. That’s why I completed a master’s degree in Clinical Animal Behaviour. And it’s why I built Alongside Animals: a service that offers the time, care, and support pets and their people need.
My approach
My approach is gentle, thoughtful, and grounded in science. I bring together my veterinary background, postgraduate training in clinical animal behaviour, and force-free training methods. The result is a plan that feels manageable, kind, and tailored to each pet. Above all, I love working alongside people to improve their pets’ welfare: helping animals feel safer and supporting you with empathy and practical guidance.
Helping animals and their people
Every behavioural journey is different, so my role is simply to help you help your pet. Together, we’ll explore the options and choose an approach that protects your pet’s welfare and suits your household. If you’d like clear, practical help with your pet’s behaviour, please get in touch. I’d love to see how I can support you.
